GEOMETRIC TERRAZZO TILES AT STAR LUX GRAND GAUBE HOTEL, MAURITIUS

Project Overview
The Star Lux Grand Gaube Hotel (LUX* Grand Gaube) is a world-renowned 5-star resort located on the northern coast of Mauritius. Designed by acclaimed British interior designer Kelly Hoppen and architect Jean-François Adam, this seaside retreat blends retro-chic tropical design with natural harmony.
For its grand lobby and corridors, the design team selected geometric terrazzo tiles by Secoin to create a sophisticated 3D illusion floor — a statement of modern artistry crafted from sustainable materials.
The Artistic Beauty of Geometric Terrazzo Tiles
3D Visual Illusion Effect
The geometric terrazzo pattern features a cube-inspired 3D motif that plays with perspective and light. Depending on the viewing angle, the floor appears to rise or recede, bringing motion and depth into the architecture — a true dialogue between geometry and craftsmanship.
Elegant Neutral Tones
A refined palette of soft grey, beige, and white harmonizes perfectly with the resort’s tropical wood and natural light. These hues make the terrazzo floor both understated and luxurious, amplifying the calm and contemporary atmosphere that defines the LUX* Grand Gaube experience.
Sustainable and Durable Craftsmanship
Made at Secoin’s green-process factory, the geometric terrazzo tiles are composed of natural and recycled materials. They are durable, scratch-resistant, and low-maintenance — ideal for high-traffic hospitality environments while aligning with global sustainability standards.
Application in the Hotel Space
- Grand Lobby: Creates a welcoming first impression with a striking 3D terrazzo effect.
- Corridors and Transitions: Enhance spatial continuity while reflecting light dynamically.
- Lounge & Reception Area: Complements natural wood textures and greenery for a seamless indoor-outdoor feel.
The Harmony of Nature and Design
Under the warm glow of ambient lighting and natural materials, the geometric terrazzo tiles by Secoin form a dialogue between Vietnamese craftsmanship and international design aesthetics.
Each tile embodies a story of color, texture, and artistry — true to Secoin’s philosophy of “Eco Artistic Tiles.”
Project Impact
The Star Lux Grand Gaube Hotel demonstrates how Secoin terrazzo transforms floors into art pieces.
From Vietnam to Mauritius, Secoin’s geometric terrazzo tiles bring timeless elegance and sustainable beauty to world-class hospitality spaces, celebrating a legacy of craftsmanship that transcends borders.
